Stamp Till You Cramp!

About four times a year I do what I call a Stamp till you cramp! This is an all day event that my customers come to and create create create! I provide projects for them to do , give them thank you gifts and hand out lots and lots of door prizes!

These are some pictures from my May Stamp Till you cramp that took place May 30th! This is the project they worked on. Its an adorable card sized magazine holder and three cards to go in it.

Everyone had a great time hanging out with their friends and working at their own pace. It's a great place to learn some new techniques, get creative and just plain have fun!
These are the kits all put together for everyone.

This is one of the thank you
gifts that I gave all my girls. They are little coaster notebooks I made with some of the designer series paper from this past sale a bration! I used the alphabet set Lovely letters (115030) to put each ladies initial on the cover. Just a little personal touch!

These are little double-sided candy boxes that I made and filled with chocolates! You can't have a stamp till you cramp without chocolate! I used designer series paper from the level three hostess set Hand drawn Bundle to cover the outside of the box and used the set Oval All (113790) and Scallop oval Punch (114889) both from the occasions mini catalog to finish the boxes off. I also used the wide oval punch (112082) to make the handle of the box.
Next are the name badges.

I make a different name badge for each Stamp till you cramp! I try to use a set on the badges that will be used on the project. Aren't they cute!

I love to spoil my customers. All my ladies are soo sweet and I just love them all! I have made some very dear friends through Stampin' Up! If I never make another dollar, it has been worth it just for the relationships that I have built! Ok, enough with the mushyness... enjoy the rest of the pictures.. they are of the ladies having fun and doing their projects!

My next Stamp till you cramp will be in July. Christmas In July! Christmas cards, Christmas music, Christmas Cookies... And lots and lots of fun! So if your in my area and think you would like to come... let me know! I would love to have you!
Until next time...

Happy Memorial day!

Before I get to the main part of my post, I want to take a moment to thank all of the men and woman who have served our country. Without the service of these brave men and woman, we would not have the freedoms we have today. So thank you! Job well done!

Wow! Shame on me! I have not updated my blog in a whole week! Well, it is time to remedy that. So, these are a couple of cards I have been working on this week. They are simple cute little cards that I made using the Pun Fun (115054) stamp set.

All the cards are very similar in style but have different elements to them. It was fun to make some quick simple cards for a change. I think that sometimes I get caught up in trying to make bigger and better things and forget to just plain have fun! So that is what I did with these cards.. I had fun! So, enjoy and if you have any questions about any of the card, please leave a comment or email me and I will be sure to get back with you ASAP with an answer! Have a great day and until next time....

Featured artist of the week

Im sorry that the Featured Artist is late one day.

But I think that you will agree with me when I say

it was worth the wait!

I would like to introduce you to Chris Austin.
She is my featured artist for this week.
Please read more about her below and
visit her Blog to see more of her art work!
Hello everyone. Thanks so much, Shelly, for allowing and picking me to be your featured artist this week. It is my privilege to be able to do this for you. I pray you have already received lots of rewards for doing this for everyone you have chosen thus far.

I am Chris Austin. I live in Akron, Ohio, of which, I have lived here all of my life. When it comes to weather related things, this state is a fairly safe place to live. I have been happily married to David for 24 years. We have 2 grown daughters. The oldest is married, lives in Wyoming, and expecting her first baby, my first grandchild, during the middle of August. Our youngest daughter is now engaged and looking at getting married possibly late summer next year.

Currently, I am not employed outside of the home. I am one of those that knows I should get a job, but I so like being at home. I am playing with the idea though. Pray for me! I have been with Stampin' Up! for over a year now. I love doing this job. I just love being able to create. I am currently on the Diva Coffee Break Designs team, which has and is a lot of fun. It also motivates me to create something every week, which I needed. I can honestly say there was a time I thought I had no talents. Until I had my first child, I never knew I liked crafts. Since then, I have found there are lots of crafts I enjoy doing. Stamping is so much fun. You just never know what creation you will come up with next. I am a create as you go along type of person. The other thing I really enjoy doing is teaching children about the Lord. I teach 2nd and 3rd graders Wednesday evenings at church and just this past Sunday I also started teaching 3rd grade girls and boys too.

Enough about me. I hope you are inspired to make something for yourself now. If you have never stamped, try it, you may find you like it or maybe even love it!

Thanks so much, Shelly,
Chris

I hope you enjoy my samples of "Just Buzzin By" as much as I enjoy stamping with this set. It is just the most fun set and the baby bees are soo cute!

I have heard this card called a
magic card. When you open it up,
there are secret panels in it. It's a very
fun card to make and give.
Book mark my blog
and come back later
to check it out and see
the inside!

This card was a little harder for me because I had to go out of my comfort zone and use colors that are not normally associated with bees and honey hives. But I think it turned out pretty cute... don't you!?

Watercolored Rose

Last night my friend Wendy came over to stamp with me. We THOUGHT that we were going to try that watercolor technique where you use re-inkers and water pens and the color just flows throughout the image. Notice I said THOUGHT! We didn't have the right kind of paper for the project though. As a side note, water color paper does NOT work! lol

Anyway, I still used the ink and the water pens but this is what I came up with in the end! I used Pumpkin Pie, Riding hood Red and Always Artichoke. I painted the whole flower lightly in the orange then went back over it with the same orange and darkened some spots up. I went over it a third time with the same orange and darkened the edges up even more. But I still was not finished. So I took Riding hood Red and a finger dauber and just lightly brushed the edges of the rose. PERFECT! I also used the Riding hood Red to sponge around the outside of the Top Note Bigz Die. Then I used lots of pop dots to pop everything up! The stamp sets I used are Fifth Avenue Floral and God's Beauty. I'm very happy with the end result. When I was all done with the card, there was still something missing... I tried buttons, I tried brads, I contemplated using ribbon but nothing "fit". Then I found my clip assortment! Isn't it just adorable! It was the perfect touch to finish off the card!

Thank you for looking at my creation today. come back tomorrow for something new! Until then,

Little Girls Birthday Party

Remember I said that I was going to do a birthday party for a group of 10 year old girls? Well here are some pictures of that party! The girls were having way too much fun before I got there! They were all made up with eyeshadow and glitter! How fun to be a 10 year old girl again!

Anyway, back to the projects. The girls seemed to have a good time making the projects and didn't have any trouble with the difficulty level! They sure were impressed by the heat embossing though... but what can I say, I still enjoy watching the "magic" of the powder changing. lol

Enjoy the pictures and be watching for some new projects coming in the next couple of days! I'm off to stamp now and so you should also GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Featured Artist

As promised, I have a new featured artist today!

If you would like to be my featured artist next monday, please make sure to leave a comment on this post with your name, email address and a link to your blog!

I would like to introduce you to Ret Cudmore. You can read a little about her below. Please take a few moments to read her bio and check out her blog here.

Hi, I'm Ret Cudmore! I feel so fortunate and excited to be the featured artist on Shelly’s blog! I love to stamp! It makes me happy! I'm lucky enough to be married to a kind and wonderful man. We have no children, but we do have one fur baby, a dog, Abbi. I am a recently retired sales manager. I'm originally from the Adirondack Mountains of Upstate New York, about 15 miles from Saranac Lake, but my husbands job has us currently living in Nova Scotia, Canada.I started rubber stamping to fill my time when I first came to Nova Scotia 8 years ago. I soon discovered that I loved making handmade cards and the personal gratification I get from it. I can honestly say I've fallen in love with all the different avenues that paper crafting has to offer.

I hope you like my card that is featured today, and that you’ll browse thru my blog and become inspired to ink up your stamps and create!!!
Thanks so much, for looking, and thank you, Shelly for featuring me!!!

Faux Alligator

Here is my take on a faux alligator wallet. I thought it would be cute to make a little clutch that would hold a gift card.
I did this project with my girls at club last night and they all loved it!

One of my ladies took the clutch home with her and her daughter now wants to do it at her birthday party! So be watching in the next couple of days for pictures of the birthday party! It should be fun! 7 ten year old girls stamping.. I like to get them hooked on stamping young!!!! lol

OK, until next time....
