Framelet storage

This is how I used to store my framelets. They are all together but take up a good chunk of space.

Since I don't have Lot of space I had to come up with something better. So here is what I came up with! Makes them my h easier to look through and way more portable!
It's a 6x8 three ring binder and takes up so much less room than the box!

First timers!

I love to share my passion for card making with others and I especially love sharing with those who have never stamped before.  This past month I had the opportunity to share with these three lovely ladies. Diane and Nora ( on the two ends) were brand new but Amy in the middle had stamped before. All three did an excellent job ! I look forward to stamping with them again real soon!

Thank you cards

Every month I try really hard to make thank you cards for my club girls. Some months I get them done and some I'm just not so lucky! This was a lucky month!
The set I used is called oh hello and the ink is crisp cantaloupe and early espresso

I have to admit, when I saw this in the new catalog/idea book, I wasn't so excited about it.
But... after watching this video. I think I NEED it now! lol  And I think YOU need it too! So here is what I am going to do. I am going to post a hostess code. The same as last month, anyone who makes a $25.00 or more purchase using this hostess code will get their name in the drawing for the hostess benefits once the party reaches 150.00 min.  As an added bonus,. if this months party total is over 250.00. I will have a second drawing and that winner will win this cool new tool! (the rotary attachment, not the entire cutter)
So here is the code  WQYB7P6P  I will keep this party open until the end of the month. Also, if your order is 50.00 or more, you will be entered twice for the hostess benefits, 75.00 will get you three chances and so on and so forth! So take a peek at this video and then go grab your catalog and go shopping! Just click HERE to start shopping!

Bridal Shower

My Niece Holeigh is getting married in October. This past weekend she had a bridal shower. This is the card I made to go along with her gift.
I searched the internet for inspiration and thought that I had found the perfect card. As I started to re-create the card I had found, things started to change, a little tweak here and a little change there and in the end, the card ended up looking NOTHING like the card I have found for inspiration. So I guess in a way, the internet card HAD inspired me... just in a different way that I had intended.  lol and I am totally ok with that!

This is the inside of the card. I wanted to bring a little bit of color to the inside of the card so I added a half layer and some ribbon. Finishing it up with a couple of punched hearts that I had run through the big shot with the same embossing folder as the main layer on the front of the card.
Items used for the card:
Stamp set- Express yourself, Yippee Skippee
Card stock - whisper white and blushing bride
Punches - Scallop trim border 118402
Elegant Butterfly - 127526
Bitty Butterfly - 129406
Word window-119857
Modern label-119849
Embossing folder-
Beautifully Baroque -130917

My room mate gift for Anna

This is the gift that I made for my room mate at convention. Although I did not come up with the original design or pattern, I did put my own touches in it!

I used one of my favorite sets for this project. A Secret Garden. Along with the framelets that goes with it. The framelets sure do make things go so much quicker. And add the magnetic platform and oh yea baby!!! lol

The inside has a little surprise too. A mini pad covered and decorated slightly differently then the outside but definitely compatible. It fit just nicely in the pocket on the inside cover!
Big thanks to Anna, my room mate for making my first convention so memorable! You Rock!

My Swap card

This was my swap card for convention. I only joined one organized swap and did not make any extra cards for general swapping. I had a lot of fun making this card. If you look close, you can see the paper piercing in the two right corners and along the left side of the card.  Sorry about the little bit of glare on the card... It had a clear envelope on it when I took the picture... silly me, I know!
The set I used is called Perfect Blend and is the perfect set for me because I just love coffee and drink it every morning in a cup that looks very similar to the one on this card!
So, if you don't own this set yet, click on my shop now button and get it.. then when it comes, grab your set your paper ink and don't forget the coffee and come stamp with me!
Until next time,

The Terminal

As much fun as I had at convention this year, one of the things I will remember for a very long time was my trip home! Of course, I was exhausted from four days full of convention and sight seeing activities. I had been up since 6 am and had been on a 5 hour tour of Salt Lake City. My flight home was supposed to be at 4:50.  My room mate and I decided to take the shuttle to the airport a little early.. so we had been at the air port since 2 pm. My room mate and I went our separate ways. Shortly before my flight was to take off, the air line attendant called me to the desk and told me that my flight had been cancelled. I had two options. One, I could fly to Chicago be put in a hotel and take a flight to Charlotte at 6 am. Or I could take a flight from SLC to Charlotte at 11:59.  When I heard my choices, I just started crying. LOL I was so tired and ready to go home and now I was "alone" and stuck in an airport. I wondered around the entire air port looking for things to do. I felt like Tom Hanks in the movie "the terminal". lol  I was reunited with my room mate for a short time as her flight was delayed due to weather conditions at home. She left and I was alone again. More wandering around the air port and then finally, I saw another demonstrator and struck up a conversation. She said she and a few others were going to be on the same late flight that I was and that they were getting something to eat and I was welcome to join them. On my way to the restaurant, I noticed another demo standing by herself and I invited her to join us. Well, who could imagine how much fun you can have with total strangers in an airport so far from home! We laughed and cut up for hours! We shared our swap cards and even attracted other people who were not even stampers! lol Shortly before we were to leave, we got notification that our flight was.... yeap, you guessed it... DELAYED! lol  and then once again, delayed!  But we didn't care! we were having such a great time together!!!
Finally, our flight took off around 2 am.. yes, that's right... 12 hours in the air port!
I will be forever grateful for meeting my new friends!
Until next time,

some exciting new things from Stampin' Up! Check this out!
Look who I was stranded in the airport in Texas with! That's right its Dawn Griffith!  She is one of sweetest people you would ever want to meet! I got to sit and talk with her and several other wonderful demos and the time we spent in the airport just flew by.... no pun intended. lol
And the icing on the cake was her sweet, funny hubby!
Also, one of the other demo's who was there chatting with us, Cherie,*who I sadly did not get a picture with* was one of the presenters at convention! Again, couldn't have been nicer if she tried!

Can  you say YUM? This is what I found waiting for me on my bed when I FINALLY made it to Salt Lake City! My sweet room mate had contacted my husband without me knowing and found out what one of my favorite treats is! She also gave me one of her awesome swap cards using, can you believe it, Aluminum foil! That's right, every day ordinary foil made this card look and Feel awesome! It is definitely something that I will be trying in the very near future I am sure!

t
This is me and my room mate, Anna! We had the best time together and the most amazing thing to me was how compatible we were even though we had NEVER met prior to convention! I feel like I will truly have a friend for good with her and I hope she feels the same!

Color refresh!

About three years ago, I was on vacation in Florida when my friend/down line called me and said she had just gotten notice of a list of colors that Stampin' Up! was retiring. As she started to read the names of the colors, my stomach dropped! I was so sad to see so many colors going! The light at the end of the tunnel was that there were some great new colors coming in and also that it would be 3 to 5 years before this would happen again.... that's right, its been 3 years and so it is time for some changes again. This time though, it is not as drastic. I am very excited to see some of the colors coming back from the past in color pallet but at the same time, very sad to say good bye to  a couple of my favorites! 3 to be specific are Regal Rose, Certainly celery and Baja Breeze.  Change is not always easy but with out it, we would still be stuck using those 70's oranges, yellows and greens! Change CAN be good! lol
Below is a chart of what is staying, coming and going!

two minute tid bit

I always have such a hard  time putting the stickers on my clear mount stamps so a lot of the time, I don't even use the stickers. I know, bad form! So one day, I was sitting at my kitchen table trying to mount a set of stamps that seemed to have a million little stamps in it. I thought to myself, there has got to be an easier way of doing this!  I mentioned to the person sitting with me that it sure would be easier if the background was a different color than the stickers themselves were. And it hit me! Sponge some ink onto the backing so that there was a contrast!  Enjoy the video and if you have any questions, please email me! Please don't hesitate to share this video with your friends!

cased Mans birthday card

Strait  up I'm gonna let you know that I cased this card off the Internet. I travel so many places that I can not even begin to remember where I saw it. I have changed it slightly but non the less, it is a case! If you are the original creator of this card, please let me know so that I can give you due credit!

For now, please enjoy this card as much as I enjoyed making it!

One of the hardest things for me is coming up with Male themed birthday cards *or any male themed card for that matter!*

I think this card fits the bill very well though!    One little trick I did want to share with you though is on the inside of this card. If you noticed the little flags on the outside of the card, you will see that it matches the designer series paper on the left side of the inside of the card. I cut the banner from the center of this strip of paper and normally would just chuck it but I thought the inside needed a little something and the whisper white panel covered the cut out rather nicely! So, no waisted paper! A two for! lol

Chalkboard technique!
This was a fun card to make! I love the colors and normally, I am a brights or subtles kinda girl, but these colors just appealed to me for this card!
The sets I used are Summer Silhouettes (126447) and Vintage Verses which is a free set with
$50.00 purchase during Sale a bration! I also used Comfort Cafe designer series paper (126898) Again, not my usual color pallet but LOVE this pack of paper!
I am going to TRY to do a video on this technique and get it posted as soon as possible so be watching for it!  I have such a hard time editing the videos (computer stoopid) so I tend to not make them as often as I really would like to.
Anyway! Have a great day and until next time,

 Pretty In Pink!
This is one of the cards that my club girls did this month! Sadly, one of the sets I used was in the winter mini and is not available currently. The second set I used was the Everything Eleanor set.(124164)  I also used the Hearts collection framelets (123599) and adorning accents (125595)  to create the scallop edge along the bottom of the card.
Then I used a white gel pen (105021) to accent the bottom of the card. Big bang for the buck when done on black card stock.
The card stock used for this card is Pretty in pink, basic black and whisper white. I also used Black staz on ink and pretty in pink ink.

Have a great day!
until next time,

Happy Valentines Day!

Remember the video I did a week or so ago? Well, this is the project that those cute little rose buds went on. I used the petal cone die  to make this cute little valentine pouch. Instead of folding on the score lines, I left it flat which conveniently made a cute little heart. Put two of them together and you have a pouch! Fill it with your favorite treat and give it to someone you love!
Here is a close up of the rose buds. I used a jewel brad to hold the bottom rose bud together.. hence the shine and shimmer!  I also added a little lace ribbon for the hanger and used the beautiful butterfly embosslit to add a few finishing touches!

Valentines monkey!
It seems that just yesterday we were celebrating Christmas and now all of a sudden, we are making Valentines cards. When I was younger, people used to tell me how fast time would go by when I had kids. Of course, I didn't believe them... but as I now have a 16 and almost 14 year old I am starting to realize that time really does fly!
Anyway, my mother in law came over today with a print out of a card she found online. She asked me to help her make it for her newest grandchild. As it happens, the monkey on the original card was female with lots of pink and bows. Since her newest grandchild is a boy, we tweaked the card a bit and made our monkey a boy! He turned out really cute.
Now for the lesson that this card teaches... Always make sure to clean your stamps well when you are finished using them! Otherwise, you may end up with a two toned image like this heart here. Evidently when I finished making my valentines treats last week, I didn't clean my stamp as good as I thought I did and it still had a bit of pink ink on it. THIS time, it actually worked out ok. lol
As a side note, this monkey was created using all Stampin' Up! Circle, oval and heart punches! Enjoy!
until next time,

Thank You!
Each month, I try to make a thank you card for each customer who places an order. This month, I thought it would be sweet (get it? lol) if I made each girl a little treat. So these are the some of the treats that I made.

It was super hard not to eat the M&M's but I was a good girl and MOST of them made it
into the treat bags!
I hope my customers enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them!

MIA

Happy New Year!
With a new year comes new goals. I resolved this year not to make any resolutions. lol So, instead, I am setting new goals for myself and in this case, my business.
I am not making any promises here but I will say that I am going to do my best to try and post to my blog more often.  I truly have missed posting and sharing my creativity with all of you!
I have several blog posts planned for the next couple of days. I even have a tutorial planned.
I would love to hear from you, tell me what you would like to see on my blog... what type of projects do you want to see? Do you want more tutorials?
For now, I will spend the day trying to get the banners updated so bare with me. But check back often to see what new goodies are posted!
Thanks for your patience!
