Magic/flip flop card

I wish you could see this card in action! I am not sure what it is really called, I have heard it called a magic card and I have also heard it called a flip flop card. So you chose what you want to call it... I will just call it cute! lol

The card looks like it is complicated to make but really and truly, it was soooo easy! I think I will be making more using different sets! So, enjoy and be watching for some more to come soon.

Also, as soon as my hubby gets my new computer set up, I will be filming my next video so be watching for that too!

Until next time... GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Belated Birthday Card

Take a look at this absolutely adorable card that I received from
my friend and downline,Suzanne Bompensa! She is such a talented artist and I wish she had a blog to feature all her artwork. It is truly amazing. Her attention to detail and her precision cuts makes her one of my
favorite card artists! Thank you Suzanne for sharing a piece of your art with me!
As for the pictures, they surely don't do the card justice and I tried to take several different shots so you could get a good look at how the card is folded and goes together.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Until next time, GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!!!

New toys!

My order came last night and I didn't have a chance to play with anything because it came

just as I was leaving to go out for dinner with some friends for my birthday!

I did play a little today and so far, this is what I have come up with! Not sure if I am totally happy with the card or not. The more I look at it the more I like it though. I popped the branch up with dimensionals and double popped the bird then popped the whole piece as well.
What do you think? Leave a comment and let me know if you like the card the way it is or if there is something that you would change about it. Constructive criticism is always welcome!
Until next time, GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Blog candy winner

I wanted to say thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday! I read every single comment that was left! I had a very nice birthday! I was taken out for Breakfast by my friends husband! (long story) I was taken out to lunch by my Mother in law and my husband and boys took me to dinner. It was one long meal for me! lol But for those of you who know me, you know I am on weight watchers so I tried very hard to watch what I ate and I pretty much stayed on program!
Tonight some girlfriends and I went out to dinner to celebrate my birthday at Chili's. They have a great plank talapia that is totally on program. But my friend Wendy baked me my favorite cake.. Almond pound cake... from scratch! Well, I had to jump off the wagon for a bit and have a piece of that for sure! lol Goodness knows, I am glad my birthday is over! lol
Anyway, on to what you all really wanted to know! I used a random number generator that I found on the Internet and it picked number 14! So here is the winning entry!

Featured Artist

Congratulations to Nancy Horn for being chosen to be my Featured Artist.

Below you will find some info about Nancy and a sample of her work.

To check out more about Nancy and her projects, hop on over to her blog and take a look around.

Hi, my name is Nancy Horn and I am so excited to be the Featured Artist this week on Shelly's blog!!! A little about me . . . I originally came from the Washington coast, about an hour north of Seattle. I am married and have 2 boys - 25 & 17 and 2 adorable granddaughters - 4 & 2 - that live with us half time. I now live in Jerome, ID., we moved here from Ontario, OR the summer of 2006 after my husband finished Dental Hygiene school and accepted a job in Sun Valley. When people ask why we moved to Jerome (since I had hoped to return to the coast), we always say The Lord sent us into the desert for a reason; we don't know why, but HE did. Then a year later my husband surrendered to the ministry in the summer of 2007, and we realized that was the reason!

My sister-in-law was one of the first SU demos in Montana, and for Christmas in 1995 she gave me my first SU stamp set (a foam mounted set) and a Spectrum pad - I was hooked! The Spring of 2000, as I approached my 20-year class reunion I began to panic that I hadn't "done" anything with my life; so I decided to go back to school for Cisco Networking. While I was in school my mother passed away and eventually I decided that I didn't want to be a network nerd anymore; I needed to be a creative again. I had inherited all of my mom's crafting supplies & over 300 craft books. Add that to what I had in my stash, from 5 years of SU workshops, I was in a crafters paradise! 5 years later, I met Judy Mahon a SU demo from Council, ID and she taught me so much. When I moved to Jerome, I told Judy I was going to have to sign up since she wasn't close enough to do classes anymore at my house (I had moved 5 hours from her). I signed up during SAB in 2007 and have been Happy Stamping in Jerome ever since.

Happy and Blessed Easter!

There will be no stamping post today. Instead I would like to take the time to wish you and all of your loved ones a happy and blessed Easter. God has blessed my family beyond what I can even begin to imagine! He has blessed me with family and friends. I have a roof over my head and food in my cupboards. He has given me the talent to stamp and create artwork and the ability to share that with others. The blessings go on and on.. So many that I can see but even more that I can not see! So today, I thank God for his many blessings. I consider you one of those blessings!
So until next time, GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY! (and make sure you find all those hidden Easter eggs, they will start to smell bad after a few days if not found. lol)
Easter Blessings,

PHEW~~~ I'm worn out!

I struggled for several hours making this card. It may not look like it now, but for some reason, I just could not get these colors to go together. I made this card for Kristina Warner's Color Inspiration on her blog. And now that I am finished with it, it will go into the box of samples that I send to Sherrill... and I say... GOOD RIDDANCE! lol
Seriously though, I did struggle for quite a while but in the end, I am happy with it. The final touch was the paper piercing on the top and bottom right sides. Hopefully, it shows up in the picture but in person, it was the perfect addition to finish off the card.
That's it for this post. Until next time, GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Fifth Avenue Floral

This is a card that I worked on today. I stamped the rose three times and cut out different portions and popped them up. Before I popped them up, I sponged some chocolate chip around the edges. I really like how it turned out. This will be one of the cards that I send to Sherrill Graff. As many of you know, she hired me to make samples for her. I hope you enjoy it and if you have any questions, please leave a comment or send me an email. Until later, GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Rearranging things just a bit!

When I decided to order "Wagon full of fun" from the mini catalog, I thought that there were a few stamps in it that I would not use. The wagon being one of them. There was just something about it that didn't sit right with me. Lately I have been doing a lot of paper piecing on my cards. This means lots of cutting. So looking at the wagon, I finally figure out what it was that I didn't like. The handle! It was at the top of the wagon instead of at the bottom of the wagon. Then it hit me, I can cut this thing apart and put it back together the way I want it! And so not only did I put the handle at the bottom of the wagon, I put it on the right side instead of the left side! So the image is not exactly the way it is in the catalog but that's OK! I like it now!

Every thing on this card is cut out! The Ducks wing is popped up and the egg in the wagon and the wagon are popped up. I used a stipple brush with some Bashful blue ink to create the sky. It took me a couple of hours to make this card but that was OK, my friend was over stamping with me and we just talked and cut up all night!

I hope you enjoy the card and if you have any questions, leave a comment or email me!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and now... GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Like Mother like Son!

I thought I would share what happened in my house today! My 9 year old son asked me if he could make a card. For years my kids have known that my stamping stuff is HANDS OFF! They have

been very good about it even as babies, they never touched my stuff. So when he asked me today if he could make a card, my first instinct was to say NO, you can't play with MY TOYS! But I didn't say no.. I actually said yes and surprised him and me! lol

So, he asked me about some things and I helped him with a couple of things like using my cutter and such but for the most part, he did the whole card. At one point you can see in the pictures that he was actually sponging around the edges... Thata boy!!! So, here is the card and several pictures of him making it. For his first card, I think its pretty darn good! Please leave a comment for him, his name is Matthew and he will get a huge kick out of reading what
you all think about his work!

Thanks for looking and now.... GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!

Shelly

another quilt card

Good morning everyone... well its almost noon but anyway! Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I did stamp however and you will see what I did today and tomorrow.
The first card I stamped is another quilt. This one had a bit more stamping in it than the last one but I really do like these little cards! I showed my cyber group the card and some one asked me if I had used the 1 1/4" square punch.... duh, noooo I cut them all out by hand with the trimmer. From now on though, I will be using that little gem of a punch! I don't know why I didn't think about it but it sure does make sense! So anyway, here is the card I made. It uses the Designer series paper - Manchester (112464).

Enjoy the card and if you have any questions, leave me a comment or send me an email.

Until tomorrow..... GO GET YOUR FINGERS INKY!
