Good, Better and Best!

What a great concept! Ever since I
saw the idea of taking one card at its very basic stage and making it progressively better, I have been obsessed with doing it.
So this card is a good card. There is nothing wrong with it. *other than the photography is a little blurry... whats up with that?!* lol

The card is very simple but still would be nice enough if you wanted to send a quick note to someone!

But, add a scallop punch and some ribbon and a little black ink and look how much fancier the card can be.

But wait, we are not done!

Add a few brads and stamp a background on the pink layer. Add some white dots with a gel pen and now look at what you have! Just a few minor additions can really jazz a simple card up and make it a "wow" card!

I am really enjoying making these cards and hopefully, with any luck, I can make it a weekly thing! So keep checking back and watching for my

"Good, Better, Best" series!

Until next time~

Stamp club

This is one of the cards we made at stamp club tonight! Its such a cute set and you can do so much with it~ It is called Something Sweet (118589). It can be found in the Occasions mini catalog and can be purchased now through April 30th. So if you like it, you better jump on it now! It will be gone soon! I also used the treat cups (116802) which also can be found in the occasions mini catalog.

My friend and down line, Wendy came down to my house the other day to play with this set and we came up with three really cute cards! And that is just the beginning... there is sooo much that can be done with this set. So if you would like to take this opportunity to order it, feel free to visit my Stampin' Up! Business website at www.shellysmarzik.stampinup.net

Until next time stamping friends,

Good, Better and Best

Here we are, first couple of days into March and can you believe it, we have SNOW here in the south! When did they move my state to the arctic? Sheesh!

Thankfully, it is all almost gone but I had to cancel my club meeting last night due to the weather! Secretly, I love the snow but I AM ready for some warmer temperatures now. I have had my fill of winter weather.

For today's post, I thought I would share some cards that I made at my latest in home workshop.

I came across the idea for this when I was reading emails from a demo group I belong to. So special thanks goes out to Gretchen Barron for giving me a jumping off point!

The idea for these cards is that sometimes less is more but SOMETIMES, More is more too!

So I started off with a very basic card. Nice enough to send to a friend. There is nothing wrong with it.

But as you will see with the next card..... add a punch and some ribbon and it can be a better card.

Add some texture to the

background and some extra embellishments and it can be an even better card.

I hope you enjoy my cards today. I sure did enjoy making them. I used a set out of the mini catalog called Vintage Vogue. This set was totally not my style and I would have never bought it for myself but I have learned over the years that you have to buy things out of your style if you want to sell them to your customers. Well, guess what! I was very pleasantly surprised when I fell in love with this set! I plan on using it alot and you will see those future cards posted here so check back often!

Until next time,
